On December 10, 2008, Higher Achievement's Ward 7 scholars will become international circus stars and present their own one-ring show for friends, family, and community members. Through a pioneering collaboration between South Africa’s Zip Zap Circus School for Social Change and Washington, DC’s Higher Achievement, these student scholars are using circus training and performance as a window into issues of social justice, global connections, leadership, and teamwork. The three-week pilot program features the participation and support of Cirque du Soleil, Edmund Burke School, and the Atlas Performing Arts Center, where the show will take place.
