Higher Achievement’s 2008 Regional Spelling Bee Produces Three Co-Winners!
December 4, 2008 –Adam Workineh, Emily Dickson and Bryan Matthews were all crowned as 2008 Higher Achievement Regional Spelling Bee Champions. This year’s competition was intense, as 25 scholars from all 5 DC Metro Achievement Centers competed to be this year’s top speller.
The regional bee is a chance to display the spelling talents of Higher Achievement scholars. In addition to their talents, the hour-long competition revealed that Higher Achievement scholars could handle spelling pressures with grace. Parents, mentors, siblings and staff cheered on their Higher Achievement scholars, alongside members of the Higher Achievement board and president’s council.
Two of this year’s winners were Alexandria scholars (Emily and Bryan), with the other being a Ward 1 scholar (Adam). Congratulations to our winners! |
